Serving others
Dear Olivia,
A couple of weeks ago I was delivering a our service project's chemo kit to Kim Loosle. Prior to that we had delivered a necklace to her that read, "I can do hard things." Kim has cancer, so we are trying our best to be supportive toward her in her time of trial and need. Kim was thankful, and then brought to my attention something you had done without my knowledge.
During Primary we had told all of the children about Kim and explained her situation about losing her hair, and the need for the kids to stay home if they are ill. After you learned about her cancer, you drew a picture and wrote the words, "Get better soon," then you delivered it to her.
This is exactly you. Always thinking of others well-being and expressing love. What an excellent example of charity.
Love,
Your mama
Extended Learning Program
Dear Olivia,
A couple of months ago we decided that it would be fun to have you take the Extended Learning Program test. The program is for exceptional children who have higher thinking and the ability to problem solve in a graduated manner. We learned last month that you were accepted into the dual immersion program (where you can learn Spanish also), at Emerson Elementary School.
I wasn't expecting much, but we were so pleased with your joy of learning! You truly love school, love learning and embrace every opportunity to learn all about your world around you.
How impressed I am with how you are growing. You are kind, thoughtful, perceptive, willing, forgiving, and such a happy girl.
You teach me so much about loving, respecting others, and thinking outside of the box. I thank our Heavenly Father every day for bringing you to me.
Love,
Your mama
